Hayling Island Residents’ Association will be holding a meeting with the Leader of Havant Borough Council discussing ‘Plans for Hayling & Havant’, there will be plenty of time for your Questions! The meeting will be held on Thursday 10th February 7.15pm for 7.30pm start. Speakers Cllr Clare Satchwell – Seafront Regeneration Update & Leader of the Council, Cllr Alex Rennie – My Plans for Havant Borough, particularly for Hayling.
Looking ahead to February, ‘Colours’ (Fun)DRaising Fashion Shows are back with their fabulous fun fashion event on Saturday 12th February at 1.30pm where you can watch the models showcasing some great clothes which you can then buy afterwards. Shop your favourite high street brands at 50% or more off. There will be a raffle on the day and stalls to browse. Tickets cost £5.00 and are now available from reception. Buy 4 get 1 free. The u3a monthly meeting will be held on Thursday 17th 2pm with a talk entitled “What the Butler Saw” by Dr Robert France a National Trust volunteer at Uppark and Petworth. “Stedman”, Petworth's Georgian butler, shares his experiences and some things that he probably should not have seen! All members and visitors are welcome.
KAPOW NOW CANCELLED
The YouTrust’s “Social Prescribing Drop in Service” will be here on Wednesday 23rd 10am to 12 midday. This group meet on the last Wednesday of each month. They will be offering hot drinks and a place to chat with others. They can signpost and connect you to the community, offering advice, social connections, healthy activities, learning and volunteering. Sometimes you can walk and talk or the Cycling Without Age Triobike may visit and take you out for a ride. Bring a friend, neighbour, family member or come along by yourself to have a chat and join in. Please come along to the Centre on Monday 28th February for the National Blood Donor sessions. It is so important for all of those who can give blood continue to support this vital service. It is best if you book your appointment directly with the NHS Blood Donor service. Session times are from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and again at 4.30pm to 7.30pm. Thank you.

PLANNING AHEAD – MARCH & APRIL
A date for your diary will be Saturday 5th of March, 1pm to 3pm, for our fundraising Table Top Sale. We will have our popular ‘Prize Every Time Tombola’. Come and grab a bargain. Sellers can set up from 12 noon. Tables are £8 each, please phone 02392 467545 to book. Entrance 50p free for kids.
Paula Restall will be holding the ‘Mind, Body, Spirit Fair’ on Saturday 26th from 1pm to 5pm. Crafty Fair will be holding their 2nd Fair here on Sunday 27th March from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
Islander, Hana Venn-Richards will be holding an ‘Afternoon Tea’ to raise money for HSCT (Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation) on Saturday 2nd April 1pm-4pm. There will by live music and dancing with singer Amy Baker. Tickets cost £15 available from the Centre or hana_HSCT@hotmail.com. Hana was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS) and is raising money for an innovative treatment which is now available in the UK but is almost impossible to get through the NHS so she is trying to raise £50,000 to have the treatment privately in Mexico. Please come and help support Hana receive the treatment that she needs.
The smash hit Palladium production of ‘Joseph & the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ comes to The Mayflower in Southampton. We have a coach trip booked for Tuesday 19th April. The sensational brand-new production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical stars Alexandra Burke, Jason Donovan and Jac Yarrow. The tennis courts at Hayling Island Community Centre are available all year round.
We are able to offer a socially distanced hall that accommodates up to 250 people comfortably
