Centre News – Edition 297
We are extremely pleased to be able to advertise upcoming events scheduled for July. All COVID regulations will be adhered to for each event, depending on restrictions that may still be in place. Until Step 4, on Monday July 19th, we ask all users and visitors to continue to follow Government guidelines and policies to help keep everybody safe.
Unfortunately two of our events previously advertised have had to be postponed, the first being the musical, ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’ which will hopefully be rescheduled for another time. The second event to be cancelled is HICCA’s own 40th Birthday Summer Party which was scheduled to take place on Friday 30th July. We will hopefully put in place another event to mark our 40th year. Please watch this space for further details.

The ‘Daisy Chain’ social group are a well-established group who have been meeting at the Community Centre, prior to COVID, once a week on Wednesday afternoons. This is a hugely popular group for seniors to meet up and make new friends and is of vital importance to our senior community. Unfortunately, the group no longer have a leader to start the group back up in September. The club provides weekly activities such as; special interest talks; demonstrations and participation of arts and crafts; musical entertainment, board games and much more. You wouldn’t be on your own, there will be a team of volunteers to help each week. If you have any experience in running similar groups, or it is something you feel you would like to do, please come in and have a chat to find out what the role entails or ring 02392 467562 for more information. Thank you.
